January 9, 2015 Trucking Desperately Needs Workers, at Least for NowIn several U.S. industries, the number of job openings currently far exceeds the number of available workers. In trucking, for example, just 54% of an average of 242,000 openings are filled per month, says the Wall Street Journal. But while trucking-industry employment is expected to increase over the coming decade, self-driving freighters may eventually reduce the need for drivers, the Journal says. |
