Vast Majority of U.S. Entrepreneur Visas Go to Investors from China


More than 80% of last year's special U.S. visas for immigrant entrepreneurs were issued to people from China, up from just 13% a decade ago, according to CNN. The EB-5 visa program, which requires a commitment of $500,000 and a promise to create 10 jobs in America, is increasingly affordable to entrepreneurs in China, where household wealth is booming. The U.S. program is inexpensive in comparison with, say, Australia's, which requires an investment of $4.5 million.
