Let Your Employees Control Their Workspaces

To build a culture of high performance, your office environment may matter more than you think. Emerging research points to the power of choice and autonomy in workspaces to drive not only employee happiness, but also motivation and performance. At one leading tech company, employees can tailor the layout, height, and configuration of their desks based on personal preference. Teams can also create whatever workspace layout best supports a project, moving desks into a circular break-out space or a long row. Such arrangements put employees squarely in control of their own processes. Consider what your organization can do to give employees the spaces and tools that enhance and support their workday tasks as well as corporate goals.
