February 01, 2017 Turn a Coworker's Negative Feedback into an Improved RelationshipNo one likes getting negative feedback — especially from a peer — but demonizing your coworker who was honest with you won’t get you anywhere. After all, they took the time to give you feedback because they care about you and your success. So enlist their help. Schedule a time to follow up on what they told you. It doesn’t have to be right away, especially if you’re still thinking through how to better improve your behavior. But once you’re ready, reach out. Sit down together, tell them that you are intent on improving, and explain how you will measure success. Ask them for their input on your plan and whether they have any suggestions for specific actions you can take. Not only will they be there to support you along the way, but they’ll also be more invested in your improvement — and your relationship.
